What is the weather like at that time of the year ?

Which DZ´s are active and worth a visit ?

The weather is crap shoot, sometimes it'll be cool/cold but nice, sometimes it will be rainy. What DZ depends on your taste and where in H-town you're going to be. SD Houston is on the northern side (basically) and Spaceland is on the southern side of Houston. If you're going to be there for a while I'd recommend jumping at both DZs, they both are pretty different from each other but they're both a lot of fun.

If you really get excited, come visit us at Aggieland, we're about 90 minutes northwest of Houston.

Attached is the weather by day for 2005. As Dave said, January can go from warm to very cool. What is not shown in the data is cloud coverage. My best guess for January is also 50%, worsening through February with worst rains in March.

Jan-March is what skydiver refer to as "damnit" in Texas. Basically since you could get a good jump day, then again, you could spend your entire weekend at the DZ hoping while freezing your butt off and getting soaking wet when you step to the edge of the hanger from your monopoly game to smoke a cigerette.
