DZ near Vincenza, Italy

So ya,

I am in the Army at lovely Ft. Bragg.. well Iraq at the moment... but anywho.. i'm PCSing (moving) to Italy in the Vincenza area Come summertime. I'm looking for the best / closest DZ in that area. Anybody have suggestions?

Well i gues you have to check out www.skydivetortuga.com/ I was there this summer and might return after Christmas. Very professional and english is the second language there.

Skydive Thiene is very close to Vicenza and is an awesome DZ with a Pilatus and a Heli!!
Check that out.
Arezzo is way to far away for a weekend jumper.

I agree that Thiene would be your best option. It's so close to Vicenza. There'll be a nice bunch of people there too, with the regulars being very friendly and loads of other people heading back in Spring. And who knows, maybe I'll pop back over in the summer for a reunion and get to meet you too!

P.S. Make the most of your time in Italy. I was there for a while and miss it all so much.

I can not add to the suggestions thus far. I was there in 85-86 as part of the airborne unit stationed there. Get in with the riggers, they sometimes jump on there own. If the heavy drop unit is still in Aviano look them up. They do tail gate jumps from 130s.
