Accomodation near Deland

Hi,

Myself and a gang from the UK are going to Deland Florida for a month. We would like something a bit more upmarket than a bunkhouse , but are trying to avoid the cost of a hotel ( there are six of us ) and we want to save money for jumping. Does anybody have any contacts for apartments in the region that they are willing to rent to skydivers for a period of a month.

Contact skydive deland, they can put you in touch with several people who rent out rooms. Finding a place shouldn't be too much trouble but I'd call soon I'd think they would fill quickly this time of year.

The Holiday Inn on Route 92 (3-5 minutes away from the dz) offers a walk in rate for skydivers of $50/night (you must show licensing organization credentials). The usual rate is $109. They will probably charge $10/night for a third person but it is still a reasonable price, especially when you compare the quality of the hotel (2-3 star, very clean, room service, restaurant, turn down service, close to restaurants and shops etc.) to the DeLand bunkhouse. Don't know what you will get by way of apartments.

Have fun at DeLand and enjoy the new PAC! I had the pleasure of being on Load 1 of their new plane.
