rendezvous 0 #1 April 14, 2003 Why is the water training that is required for the B license not actually a part of the A license. Isn't the purpose of the trianing to enhance the safety of the students if they are faced with a water landing. Whats the rationale behind waiting for it. If someone chooses not to go for the B license shouldn't he/she still be going through the water training, after all water hazards can be encountered anywere . I think the original intent was to not overload new jumpers with too much info. Keep in mind that students _get_ water training; they just don't do it live, in a pool. The wet water training is just review with practice. Personally I like it because it gives me a chance to give my graduate course to people at around the 20-50 jump level, which is where the info is useful to them.
