EDYDO 0 #1 January 2, 2006 I was at Parkton, NC today and the foundation has been dug for a new 3000 sq ft building for packing, video, etc. They are getting rid of the old "gypsy camp" look. Looks like things are gonna be really nice. It's at I-95, Exit 33 just south of Fayetteville in North Carolina. Most of the drop zones for 100 miles around were closed today (Jan 1) and it was like an unplanned boogie. Jump runs were at 14000 plus for 20 bucks. We had a ball !!! KNewman 0 #3 January 3, 2006 Hey Ed Enjoyed the day as you did. Southern Comfort is my favorite dropzone. The new building for packing will make it much better!! I have not had as much fun jumping as I did on the 1st. I can't wait to get back out there and get my "Jump" on!!! Blue Skies and Stand-up Landings!!!!!! darkwing 5 #4 January 3, 2006 Now that I am orphaned due to the probably permanent closing of Blue Sky Adventures, in St. George, SC, I may get up to Parkton on occasion. sounds like good things are happening there. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
EDYDO 0 #5 January 4, 2006 Jeff, I will be there Saturday weather permitting. You have someone to jump with. John Terry (Air Trash) says he is coming as well. Maybe I can get Bill V. to show up. It should be a good group. Ed
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 January 4, 2006 I am glad that Rob-o, Arlo, and Ratboy were able to take the reigns and keep the dropzone open. I really, really like all those guys and I am sure they are doing a great job. You will absolutely be seeing me out there some this year before I leave in July for Florida. mktoson 0 #7 January 4, 2006 What type of aircraft are they jumping? So far, this is the oldest I've ever been.
EDYDO 0 #8 January 4, 2006 They have a fast climbing King Air and a C182. They now have the financial backing to provide whatever aircraft is needed to meet demand. If we want it, we just need to support it. Edited: Marquis, just looked at your profile and realized who you are. There are people there doing that silly looking head down stuff. Get on I-95 and come on up. I will introduce you to them. Ed
