saucy_dee 0 #1 January 16, 2006 Hi all The boyfriend and I are going to head down to Melbourne (as we're sick of the rain in Sydney) and want a nice friendly dropzone. We're flat flyers but are trying to learn to freefly but want to be able to camp there. I've had a look on this website and the APF website but can't really find much info on jump prices or facilities as the sites seem to be aimed at people doing tandems. Are the DZ's there like this too? We'll also have no transport from either the bus station or the airport so any tips on getting there would be great too! Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today
bob.dino 1 #2 January 16, 2006 The biggest sport DZ in Victoria is Nagambie. They operate a 750XL. There's bunkhouses on the dz & I'm pretty sure camping is allowed. Really nice people. It's about an hour outside Melbourne. There's a train and bus service to the nearby town, also called Nagambie, and I'm pretty sure they'll pick you up from the station. Call or email for more. There are other DZs in Victoria, but Nagambie is the only one I'm familiar with. By the way, going to Victoria to avoid rain is like going to Wales to avoid sheep . Eiley 0 #3 January 16, 2006 Hiya, I put some helpful links re events and DZs in Melbourne in this post. Re your 'no transport' dilemma, my best suggestion is to subscribe to the RelWorkers Yahoo Group by sending an email to relworkers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Once you're on the list you can beg for a lift to your preferred DZ from there. No DZs are serviced by public transport as far as I know. Hope to meet you at one of the events listed! nothing to see here
