Donating plasma and skydiving

Recommended Posts

I've donated over 2 gallons of plasma so far ... used to pay for jump tickets, like you said:S

I never had a problem jumping the same day, as long as your arm isn't sore (which rarely was for me). I donated twice a week (never 2 days in a row) and got paid $120/week. Reason I got paid so much was I was born with the anti-bodies to Hep-B in my system, and they were using my plasma to make vaccines (I helped people, it felt really cool ... especially with the money I was making, lol).

My only problem that ended up arising is that because I only really have one really nice fat vein to take from, they had to use the same one twice a week. After a couple of months, the scar tissue really couldn't take any more so I stopped. I haven't really gone back since.

So, if you're feeling okay after donation, don't hesitate to jump later that day! Disclaimer: This is just in my humble opinion and experiences ... I am not responsible for any death or injuries that may happen because of listening to me!

Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!

I don't know anything about the effects of plasma donation on skydiving (I stopped donating plasma before I started skydiving), but I will tell you about my experience with plasma donation:
Everything was fine at first. I was making a lot of extra money with very little effort. I didn't notice any physical side effects as long as I made sure to drink a lot of water. After a couple months of donating regularly, though, I started having problems. It wasn't anything serious, but it made my stop donating. I started to feel tired a lot. I never really took naps before, but I began to have to take at least one a day just to stay awake in class. Before long, I couldn't lift weights or exercise anymore. I was completely sapped of energy. So i gave it up. I know this doesn't happen to everybody, but I know I'm not the only one.
