fpritchett64 0 #1 April 25, 2006 Hi, I may be moving to Naples, FL soon and wanted to know if there are any DZ's nearby that I could jump. I'm new to skydiving, but now that I'm in the sport, I can't make move unless there is a DZ nearby, it's just not possible. Any info would be great. fpritchett64 0 #3 April 25, 2006 Thanks for the great info, however, I've already tried that and I found one nearby from what I know about Naples and its general area which is Skydive Southwest Florida, just wondering if there may be any others that aren't far out of reach. leapdog 0 #5 April 25, 2006 I hope you find it rewarding if you move here. So far I don't like as much as I thought I would. But I'm here at least until Nov. This year, when the lease on my condo runs out. Could be longer. I'm on the east side. You migh tlike how big Z-hills is. Lake wales has been pretty good the few times I have been there. I have never been to clewiston. fpritchett64 0 #6 April 25, 2006 About how far of a drive is it from Naples to Z-Hills, I like the small atmosphere of the DZ I'm at now, Adrenaline Airsports here in Jonesville, NC, but it seems like I'd have more potential in a larger DZ. I grew up hanging out at Emerald Coast in Elberta, known for its Beach Boogies and the Flora-Bama, that seemed like the perfect DZ, small atmosphere with a Turbine and a huge landing area, what more could you ask for, unfortunately I just wasn't old enough to jump at the time. skydiverbrian 0 #8 April 25, 2006 Skymama's mileage post is accurate, but doesn't account for Florida traffic. Anyone that's driven on I-75 or I-4 can attest that what should be a one-hour ride often turns into two or more. Stick with Southwest for weekly jumping and save the drives for boogies. In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
apollard24 0 #9 April 25, 2006 I jump at Clewiston and love it. It is a small family feeling dz that flies a caravan. I cannot comment on any of other dz's but I am sure they are great as well. We would love to have you sometime. Breathe out so I can breathe you in...

Stay in NC and go to Skydive Carolina or go to Carolina Sky Sports. I love both those places and miss it there very much. I'm not sure FL is for the NC folk. fpritchett64 0 #11 April 26, 2006 I know how you feel, I'm jumping at Carolina Skydiving right now and love the atmosphere, they're right along with me. The only way I can describe this DZ is a bunch of Deer hunting, beer drinking rednecks jumping out of airplanes, but it's such a great group of people..I love it.
