The Parachute Center in Lodi?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I want to go for a tandem skydiving session this weekend. A friend of mine suggested The Parachute Center in Lodi, CA.

Just wanted to know if any of you have gone there before. Is it safe?

I checked out their web site, and was a little concerned when I saw they don't take reservations. Plus, it's such a good deal! Too good to be true?

Thanks!

Lodi's an excellent dropzone, been there twice myself. I would be very suprised if you were dissatisfied with their tandem service.

Go for it. You can't beat the $99 price.

As far as tandem skydiving goes, it is safe, just don't do anything stupid, listen to your instructor, and you'll be fine. Lodi has an excellent tandem safety record.

I'm guessing they don't take reservations because they do so many tandems. Once you show up and pay, you'll be given a number. You can call right before you head out to the DZ to make sure they're jumping and they'll take you.

two falls ago, I had a friend call them early afternoon on a Saturday (1 or 2?) in San Jose, drive out the 100some miles and get in their jumps. With the sun out until 8, they can take a lot of people.

So what nearby wineries have the best tasting rooms?

It was pretty great. It wasn't how I thought it would be, though. The operation was pretty rugged, pretty laid-back.

I thought I'd have a crazy, adreneline-pumping experience, but it was actually quite peaceful up there.

The wait at nearly 5 hours was a little extreme, but it was worth the wait. We went right around sunset, and the photos came out beautifully.

Thanks, Parachute Center!

I may have been on your load then...I was on the last load (I think it was) around 6 pm and on the Beech (not enough for the Otter) and I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts...joined a tracking dive led by Crystal.

He was running both planes for a while, but there was the Lodi Sequentials invitational going on at the same time. Which, by the way, went off! Just to give you a taste of went on, we did a 3 point 17 way, with both head up head down positions! Just to let you all know.
