CDRINF 1 #3 May 12, 2006 Sorry to tell you guys that your options are limited. I was at Camp Hovey 2002-2003. There is one DZ in country near Seoul. It costs 120,000 Won to join the KPA and 100,000 Won per jump. I never went there since I was not wild about paying $80 per jump. There used to be a club at 2ID but it closed in 1997. I did go to the Thai Sky Festival which BJ Worth runs in March each year down in Thailand. It is a good deal and loads of fun. CDR
Dopey 0 #4 May 13, 2006 Lived for 8 years in Thailand, most of the skydivers in the (SE) Asian region went for a long weekend trip over to Thailand for jumping here. I met skydivers from Japan, China, Macao, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan over here only for 1 reason; they could not find any reasonable dropzone in that country. I do not know how the situation is now there, but if you post your request on www.skydiveasia.org, you may learn a bit more of what is going on in the region. Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once. CDR Yeah, they're open every other Sunday, if the weather is good, which gives them about 7-8 jumping days a year.Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute. zoobrothertom 5 #7 May 18, 2006 Hey, sinister69, contact me at zoobrothertom@hotmail.com or @posco.co.kr. I've been living here for 4 years and, unfortunately, jumping here is very limited and expensive. The KPA's homepage is http://www.kpa.or.kr - at the bottom left are two links to the only to schools in Korea. They both jump at the aforementioned outrageously expensive location near Seoul. Only the rich and dedicated jump here. I gave up due to 4-6 hour travel times. They only jump on every other Sunday starting in the spring until fall. You could wasted a thousand dollars in travel costs/time and fees to finally make one jump for 100,000 Won on your fifth trip to Seoul. My advice, save your money and take a weekend trip over to Japan and jump. Take that 1,000 bucks and jump your ass off for a weekend in Japan. The other option, take up paragliding for your tour over here. It's very, very popular and a used rig is about 800,000 to 1,200,000 Won. In any case, drop me line. Maybe we can comiserate over some beers... Blue Skies (somewhere!)____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
