Free 20'X30' tent on DZ row at the WFFC

I have been able to talk the convention into letting me give away a couple of the tents on DZ row to groups of skydivers that bring their entire DZ (or just about) to the WFFC. I don't know what will be a fair way to do this so I want to hear your ideas. Sorry but this will not be for the groups that already have there yearly spots saved but for a couple of new groups. How will I do this? mmm

Fleahop, there's nothing wrong with posting general stuff about the WFFC here. But what you are doing is getting very close to advertising. Please don't use this forum to 'sell' the WFFC.

For stuff pertaining _directly_ to the WFFC, the Events section is a better place to post; that's where people go to read about upcoming events like the WFFC. For more general items (like "do people like jumping AN-2's?" this is a good place.

There is a group of 10(for starters) of us coming from the uk, all from one dz that would love a tent, hell we would pay towards it... Bear in mind just to be there we are paying at least $1200 US each just to fly to chicago and back.

What do we have to do for this tent?

First thing we would do is buy some couches and show you yanks how to drink some real beer.
We are brining a adventure travel journalist for a major uk paper with us who now has around 70 jumps, a couple of kiwis(including myself) and the rest will be brits. As soon as the weather gets better over here we will be at the dz recruiting more for the trip. A tent would be well appreciated as would also give us somewhere to sleep so would not have to buy a whole lot of roofs over our heads when getting to chicago.

Would like it very much if we could be considered for a tent.

I vote for either the Roaming DZ and/or Skydive the Farm (Lots of Cross over either way).

I would be glad to help organize a few Social Events for either group if they had a tent.

Roaming DZ definitely would bring in a lot of people.

As for the Farm.. I know I am bringing several Jumpers from there with me and if we had our tent, I am sure I could talk quite a few others into coming.

While I appreciate the vote if there is only one tent I think it should be a Dropzone.com tent.If there is more than one I think there should be a list of candidates and this should be turned into a poll.I also think this should be done quickly so we can make plans and promote.

I would only be able to be there the last half but Jello-Jay has offered to entertain the RoamingDZ crowd for the first half.

I may or not be liked on these forums.... ok so 6 bans of the forums, well, i am not the greatest typist....However you give the UK a tent and it will be a whole new era. I have spoken to so many people as at the same time the uk do this thing called the russia boogie, everyone pisses off to russia. The thing is when they ask where i am going i say the WFFC, they say "what is that"?

Yes, you should give roaming dz a tent first but if you got two you should give one to the UK, the reason is, because it is WORLD freefall convention, don't keep it like the WORLD baseball etc where only america is involved.
You give a BPA tent up and you this year you may only have 10-20 people occupying it but we get to come home put an article in our magazine and next year it might be 20-30 of us and so on each year, if that does not make sense to you, get someone who knows marketing to talk to me.

My point is to you, if you want to let this grow again, involve others, make them feel special so they can tell everybody.

I went to Eloy for xmas, there must have been no less than 20 jumpers on the plane alone, and i noticed when we got to eloy, all the brits seemed to stay together for better or worse. You give a Brit tent or even an international tent and that way you are telling other countries that you are trying to include them.
If that does not make sense to you, well good luck on your american freefall convention. You want something to grow instead of dying again, then talk to me and we will make this a WORLD freefall convention. Yes i may sound arrogant, but if you have anything to do with this boogie you will also know that i am making a shit load of sense.

Whatever the outcome, i dont really care, i just cant wait to get there.

You could have a "RoamingDZ goes to England" tent at the WFFC, with pints of ale, meat pies, and its own portable cloud generator. To make it properly realistic, you'll need a bunch of ex-Army types making everyone sign off on a beerline check for their buddy.
