gweeks 1 #1 August 3, 2006 August 5, 2006 at Skydive Delmarva Saturday Night after the sunset load we'll be dining on Italian food and drinking Italian wine. The moon will be close to full that night, so those who want to can do a night jump! USPA "B" license is required to jump at night. The max cost for night jumps will be $29. That is if only 6-8 people want to do them. If there are more people jumping the cost may go down. The cost will include chem lights and possibly strobe lights provided by the DZ. The strobes will be returned to the DZ after the jump.
popsjumper 2 #2 August 3, 2006 Please Note...from SIM Section 6-4: 2. Strobe lights are not recommended for use in freefall, because they can interfere with night vision and cause disorientation. a. Constant lights are preferable. b. Flashing lights can be used once the jumper has opened and is in full control under canopy. ---- You may want to consider some source of constant light to light up the canopy as you descend. Mag lightws work well if you secure them properly to avoid snag points. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. gweeks 1 #3 August 4, 2006 The strobes would be for under canopy as recommended in 2.b. We'll probably just use chem lights for the whole thing though. Mag lights are a good suggestion, but not cost effective for the DZ to provide. Thanks for the tips!
