imthegerm 0 #1 August 6, 2006 Does anyone know of a great dropzone in or around Cookeville, TN? I am moving from San Diego, CA and I am looking for a great DZ in Tennessee. I would sure appreciate any information anyone might have for me.

lewmonst 0 #3 August 6, 2006 Go to Mullins place in West Tennessee. It's a bit far but worth the drive. The Mullins family is awesome. They will take good care of you. And the airplane... You won't be dissapointed. http://www.skydivekingair.com/ peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
mjosparky 4 #4 August 6, 2006 I think it is done that same as other states. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
matthewcline 0 #5 August 6, 2006 From Cookeville, Skydive Smokey Mountains is the closest. Turbo Cessna 206 and a 182. Then you have Tullahoma where the famed King Air of Mr. Mullins flys part time and a Cessna 195 on other days. Then Skydive Paris in Paris TN. Cessna 182 and a enclosed packing area. Be carefull you don't fall for the ASC web pages that will claim to be Skydive Pick a city your in and drag you hours from your home.An Instructors first concern is student safety. chaoskitty 0 #6 August 7, 2006 Tullahoma will soon have a full-time Turbine. Until then, its an every other weekend type schedule with Mullins KA. Theres also a DZ in Bardstown, KY. I've never been but I know a lot of Nashville jumpers go there. Wow.. San Diego to Cookeville... prepare for culture shock!
matthewcline 0 #7 August 7, 2006 Yep no more "and like your know", it is now "hey y'all listen to this I'm fixen' to tell ya story". I'm a Hawaii Kid who transplanted to Cali who then transplanted all over the states the last 20+ years. It wasn't so much a culture shock but I did get to see some of Jeff Foxworthy's stage material in real life.An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! skywade 0 #8 August 7, 2006 I live in Cookeville. There is no skydiving being done around this place. Prepare to do some driving if you want to make a skydive. Let me know when you get moved here. Maybe we can carpool to a DZ sometime.
