Empuriabrava January 2007

Recommended Posts

Hey,

You may have read in another thread I'm planning another trip to Empuria in January, long way off yet but consider this an open invite for any DZ.commer who wouldlike to have a luagh in Spain with some fun jumping and good nights out :)
Flights would only be £25ish return via Ryanair (from UK at least if you book soon) and bunkhouse is 12 euros a night :P or alternatively you could arrange some posher accomodation in one of the many apartments. Jumps are 21 euros and packing is 4.70 euros if you want to pay a packer.

If you wanna go PM me. I won't be organising anything other than my own arrangements but thought be good if people wanted to jump that time of year somewhere nice and meet up together.

Intended dates are 10th-17th January :)

How's the weather in that time of the year? And is it busy enough to make a lot of jumps?

I'm still in doubt if I'm going to spend money for such a trip or saving it for jumping to the max in the year after.

(yes I know, it's better to do both...)
Skydiving isn't just a way of life, it's a way of being alive...

it's Europe, by the Mediterranean and its the winter... so you can have anything between 20 degrees C and snow. Your clothes will range between tshirt (maybe long sleeve) and ski equipment.
What do you call a lot of jumps ? Would 10 a day be enough for you ? If it's jumpable, you can do that.

I have just received a txt from a UK jumper asking what the weather will be like in Feb 07 here at Empuria.

If anyone has this info please let me know and i will pass it on!

The only info i have from previous years is that the days will be shorter than they are now in August and it will prob be not as warm. Winter time tending to be not as hot as summer time in northern Europe.

BUT

If you do have details of the weather in Feb 2007, (between 15th and 22nd) I would love to know ;)

IMHO, a very good site for data relating to weather: www.wunderground.com - It is a bit cluttered; however, it is an extremely valuable resource, for anything relating to weather e.g. the following link gives you the historical data for Girona in August last year.
