crotalus01 0 #1 August 31, 2006 not sure this is the right place to post, but has anyone jumped at the dropzone in Beer Sheva Israel? I will be there in November and am itching to do a hop-n-pop from altitude with a camera. Emailed the DZ but no reply so far. Anyone have any experiences there? Also, are there any DZs in/around Cairo Egypt or Amman Jordan? Will be there as well money permitting. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... jumpwally 0 #3 August 31, 2006 Does any one think its wise to be jumping out there in the current climate ? It just seems odd,,thats all...smile, be nice, enjoy life FB # - 1083
redrocka 0 #4 August 31, 2006 I went to Sky Khef a couple years back and it was awesome! The staff was cool as hell and the jumpers were super friendly. I very much recommend the place. They were flying an Islander at the time, not the fastest plane in the world but it did the job for sure. It was kind of surreal being able to see Gaza and the West Bank from altitude. As far as the question about the political climate... you'll find the Israeli people have learned to get on with life despite the pressures in the country. In fact, I've heard that the nightlife in Tel Aviv is one of the best in the world. Sweet Gravity...
redrocka 0 #5 August 31, 2006 No DZ in Egypt last I heard. There was a guy who was all set to start one but apparently the gov't wasn't too keen on the idea. Lots of other cool shit to do though, Dahab on the Red Sea is a good place to go climbing, scuba diving, kite surfing, wind surfing... drinking... Look in the DZ database for Jordan, I think there is one there, might be kinda pricey though. Sweet Gravity...

africapete 0 #7 September 1, 2006 QuoteRedrocka is right, Skykef is an excellent DZ according to two of my good friends Bertus and Hein Geldenhuys who are tandem masters there. Just Google " skydiving in Israel" and click on Skykef. They are very impressed with the setup there and are doing a ton of tandems. Club operates mostly on Fridays and Saturdays, and they have a Twin Otter too - not a Super Otter though, but more than adequate. The club is 50 miles from Tel Aviv. Let me know if you don't get a reply from them, I'll forward you Bertus's phone number. Hope this helps! Still no reply from the DZ so Im emailing them again. as for the current situation there, by November it will either have escalated or died down, but at any rate it only affected the South. Hez rockets have about a 50 mile range...Haifa was about as far as they got. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
