John Wright World's most beloved skydiver Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites jumper410 0 #3 September 30, 2006 no dz there anymore. the only one ever there was a guy i worked for in 2000. it was just a two man operation. i did the tandems and packed, he flew the plane. i had four tandem rigs to use and could do 5 a day is all. it was hella windy everyday (30-35 MPH) and i had no catchers. i would flare, just a little, and then tag the cutaway handle on the way for a nice stand up landing. we jumped over by the california lighthouse. i would exit over the east beach and fly all the way over to the west beach where the hotels were and land next to the highway directly across from the marriot. it was great. it was the only place i ever seen where i took off from the international airport after going through it with a tandem rig on and a passenger but not before going through customs, immigration and security for each tandem. that was why could only do 5 a day. it was interesting.
