slotperfect 7 #51 January 25, 2007 How many of you would be interested in getting up early one morning before the seminars start to have a dotcommer meet and greet while we have our coffee and bagels? Just to be clear, this is nothing formal - just meeting in a common area of the hotel while we have our coffee so we can get to know one another. If there's enough interest I'll set it up.Arrive Safely John

Busy getting ready for the PIA business meeting starting friday. Feel free to come and set in, maybe even join. The only parts of the PIA Buisness meeting closed to non members is the voting on new members, about 20 minutes each morning, and the executive committee meeting before the start each day. Otherwise feel free to come to any and all plenary and committee meetings. I haven't seen the agenda yet but rigging and technical are ususally Saturday. If your coming to either rigging or technical committee with specific questions please let me know ahead of time. BTW I'll print labels using the above list that you can put on your name badge if you want. See me around the PIA business meetings or registration. See ya there.I'm old for my age. councilman24 37 #55 January 28, 2007 Didn't lool like anybody answered you. I'll help out since I made a couple of jumps in Austria a couple of years ago. Over by Kundl between Kufstein and Innsbruk. Most beutiful jumps of my life falling into the valley. The DZO and the rest of the people I've ment in Austria have been great. Look me up around registration. I've helped with the symposiums since 1997. And only missed 1995 since they started. No local DZ. At least a few hours by car to the nearest DZ and no public transportation like Austria. This is the first symposium we have held purposefully some where NOT necessarily good for jumping. Part of the reason was to get better room rates. It is good for skiing, but you have that!. And the symposium is in a hotel/casino complex this time. Not much to do other than the indoor stuff right in Reno. Nearest skiing is Mt. Rose about 30 or 40 minutes away. Lake Tahoe is over the mountain.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

OK . . . there is mild interest in getting together, so watch this thread beginning Monday, 5 February. When I arrive Sunday night I will figure out the best place to meet and munch, then post the official yet unofficial invitation right here. Betsy and I should be good and wired on caffeine by the time y'all get there! Arrive Safely John

councilman24 37 #60 January 31, 2007 Why don't you see if there is a PIA bulletin board and put the location and time up there also. High speed internet is $10.00 a day. Dial up is free to local number. PIA MAY have a wireless hub set up near the meeting rooms. We have for the last 2 or 3 symposiums but I haven't confirmed Cliff's intentions this time. I think we did for the business meetings there but my mind is getting old.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

We're having somewhat of a 'panel' of experts to discuss the various what, how, why etc. The Reno FISDO will talk Fed Regs, USPA will be represented, as will some rather diverse teams from both the Military and Civilian side. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
