funkmunky 0 #1 November 10, 2006 hi! i live in Detroit, and I am looking for suggestions on the closest DZ i can drive to tomorrow morning in order to make my first jump. according to my companion on this "field-trip", all of the Michigan DZs have ended their seasons, and I really want to make this happen, so I'm willing to put gas in her car to get wherever we need to go. also, she needs one more "hop'n'pop" to get her AFF A-License, and she really wants to get that outta the way at the same time, so i need a place that can meet both our needs. any suggestions? advice? etc? i'll be checking this thread regularly throughout the course of the evening, so please give me everything you've got. thanks!!! --dizzo
PhreeZone 20 #2 November 11, 2006 Skydive Greene County in Xenia Ohio still has their Otter until Monday. They are closed on Sat due to the bad forcast but were set to fly ~5 loads from noon till Sunset today. Give them a call if you are intersted in making the drive down. 937-372-0700. You may want to confirm with Tecumseh that they are really closed, they might still have thier 182 around for the winter.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

SethInMI 174 #4 November 11, 2006 I don't think the season has ended yet in MI. I just did two jumps last Sunday in Fremont, and I know Skydive Plainwell was going to have a plane up this Sunday. The weather tomorrow does look to be ugly, so I don't know if that will work out, but I would call around to see who is open. AllisonH 0 #5 November 11, 2006 Tecumseh does still have their 182s around for the winter, and will be doing jumps for experienced jumpers as weather permits (call to check if it's a weekend and the weather looks good). They don't generally do student jumps after the end of October though - their staff aren't scheduled to work, and they don't keep their student gear in date over the winter. Have you checked with AerOhio near Cleveland? I know they were still jumping earlier this week.
