RandomLemming 0 #1 December 1, 2006 Hi all, Can anyone advise me which airport for Empuriabrava? The site says that there are flights to Girona airport from Ryanair. On the RyanAir site, I can find Barcelona (Girona) (GRO) on the Ryanair site. Is this the right one ? The reason I ask is that when I try and rent a car from Hertz for GRO, I get Costa Brava Airport, Airport, Gerona , ES That doesn't look that close to Barcelona, and the spelling of the airport is different. Any ideas ? Thanks :)
piisfish 140 #2 December 1, 2006 if flying RyanAir, Girona (Gerona) is the correct one. It's around 40km from Empuria, around 100km from Barcelona. As close as you can get with an airline. Closer thatn that you'll need a small plane to land directly in Empuria. As said above, Girona/Gerona is the same, Spanish/Catalan spellings...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

RandomLemming 0 #5 December 1, 2006 Thinking of weekend after next... 15 - 17. If the weather is good, I can get some jumping in... If the weather is bad, maybe I'll be able to find someone to teach me to pack. Either way it will be a good trip :) Thanks for the link - hopefully my tomtom will get me there and back. It was fine for Ocana and Skydive Spain at least :) Now I just need to call and find out if they have space in the bunk rooms. I tried Hotel Castellblanc, and actually got a price, but I couldn't even get that far at Ampuria... I really need to actually learn Spanish at some point, not just how to ask for stuff when I have no idea how to understand the responses... Quanta Est is all well and good, but if you don't understand the numbers in the response, you're SOL :D

piisfish 140 #11 December 1, 2006 he'll need one to jump there (and in all Spain IIRC). Colin, the local rigger, has rental AAD's, but that'll cost him a reserve repack at the same time for installation (and maybe something for uninstalling) He can also rent a rig (approx 20$ per jump, packing included)scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
