DTOXX 0 #4 February 9, 2003 Thanks for the encouragements. I am getting all the necessary information (questions / correct answers) from my local DZ owner operator. I doubt this will take long once I have the information in hand.I am open to any ideas on how this could be a better guide. In the creation of this program I did have help from fellow skydivers on this forum. There names are in the credits of course but just to make sure they get they 15 seconds of fame.... My thanks go out to Skymama (You Rock girl..) and jtval (Dude, I sure your jump season will end once the temp hits 120) ------- D.T. Scoby 0 #5 February 9, 2003 I still haven't made it over to Skydive Taft. What is your DZ like? I see your canopies in the air sometime when I go into town to get lunch. I think I'll pop in for a jump or two next time I head up to AAW.
DTOXX 0 #6 February 9, 2003 Another skydiver asked me the following question concerning the downloading of the SIMstudy. I thought this was worth sharing: Quote I sure would like to download your SIM study guide, but I am always very afraid of anything that has a .exe on the end of it. What will happen when I hit the link? Do I get a chance to run an antivirus program on it before I look at it? Any help would be appreciated. I will use it for my students if I can get a chance. REPLY: If you are using Internet Explorer you will be asked (by your system) if you would like to OPEN the file or SAVE AS. If you choose SAVE then your system will most likely run a virus check on the new file. IF now then you should be able to force this scan. (I don't know what Anti-Virus software you run? I use TrendMicros PC-cillin) The installation program will only copy the incapsulated files to a directory of your choice. There is NOTHING added to your systems registry and there are not "hidden" files placed anyware on your computer. (I dislike programs that do that junk) There will also be an Uninstall icon in this directory (and in the start menu group) so that if you don't like the program, , you can delete the entire program off your drive. ------- D.T.
