councilman24 37 #1 March 4, 2007 Announced by the PIA Executive Committee "...Symposium 2009, as well as the PIA meeting, will be located in Reno, Nevada at the Silver Legacy Resort/Casino Feb 6-13, 2009 - this decision was based on comments and concerns expressed during and after the recent meeting, as well as the resounding turnout and success of Symposium 2007, an excellent contracted room rate for 2009 and the fact that we have negotiated to have the classes in the future Reno Ballroom complex (which will be located at the construction site that we walked past on the way to the Expo Center) - this means that the classrooms and exhibit hall will be located in two adjacent buildings, both outside of the hotel/casino complex - this will solve a number of the issues and problems we had at Symposium 2007: classrooms being split on 2 floors of the hotel, logistics with class monitors and A/V staff, noise and confusion of the Casino, distance from Exhibit Hall to Classrooms, lack of centralized semi-private area to gather between classes, etc...." In addition the next PIA BUSINESS MEETING (NOT A SYMPOSIUM!) will be in Nashville in Sept of this year.
