psychoswooper 2 #2 March 26, 2007 I visit Sac twice a year & always jump Lodi. It is great. Friendly people, cheap jumps, awesome hangar set up. Bill & Kathy (DZO's) are super cool. Not a lot of rules, so be prepared to be responsible for yourself.

You could always try Skydance in Davis, it's about 20min from Sac, real good DZ, great PAC some talented skydivers
Ironmanjay 0 #4 March 27, 2007 I personally like the "feel" of skydance better then lodi. I made my first few jumps at skydance this weekend and everyone there was really nice and friendly and really safety conscious. I did my student training out at lodi and like someone had already mentioned your kinda on your own out there as far as safety goes but they are cheaper per jump ticket. headoverheels 333 #5 March 27, 2007 I've made 2000+ jumps at Lodi over the last 20 years. USPA isn't really relevant. The Twin Otter uses the short runway which ends right at the landing area, the others use the other runway. Take time to observe and understand the canopy landing pattern, and where and when the aircraft come and go. Of course, this goes for any new DZ one visits. Skydance is also fine; I've made a few hundred jumps there.
noname 0 #6 March 27, 2007 I jump at Lodi and I love it! I don't have very many jumps and I mostly do RW and have had no problem finding helpful and fun people to jump with. If you don't know anyone just ask Bill or Kathy and they will introduce you to some jumpers.
safransky 0 #7 April 18, 2007 i went to both and found skydance more of a community feel, where everyone drinks, watches videos together, etc. met lots of fun jumpers and did my 100th there. i enjoyed lodi, cheap jumps, but was surprised by a few things...didnt see anyone wear seatbelts on a full altitude jump. non-uspa or not, thats safety.
