staysafe 0 #1 March 27, 2007 Hey there, I am getting married just south of Cancun Mexico this fall. I am looking for a friendly DZ for me and some of the other guys to hang out at and get some jumps in. I have heard that Skydive Cancun has very little interest in up jumpers. I was just wondering if anyone was aware of a good alternative in that area. Thanks
skydivr 0 #2 March 27, 2007 My wife and I jumped there on our honeymoon (1998)(the pic in my signature is from that day); the landing areas is somewhat consticted (Water, Hotel, Coral reef), and the wind was blowing about 30 MPH. We had to get out 2 miles out over the ocean.... So I understand their hesitancy to allow upjumpers. Be current, talk to them via email, use floatation device, and be SURE you can LAND in a tight area in high winds!Keith Abner D-17590 "Those who do, can't explain; those who don't, can't understand"
Ktownbret 0 #3 March 27, 2007 Have I got the place for you !!! I just got back from Skydive Ixtapas boogy in Feb. It was great!! Really laid back and quiet. Not rushed like some of the bigger boogys. They have a boogy in April too. The highlight of the boogy was my butha Pauly swooping the aisle for his wedding on the beach at sunset!!! New tradition? I think so!! Check out the vid i shot with my still camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H1kz5_v9l0www.okanaganskydive.com

staysafe 0 #6 March 28, 2007 I appreciate the information. I have heard that it can be tight there. Are you aware of any other alternatives in the area? I have done a search, but turned up little.
