kris2extreme 0 #1 April 9, 2007 Saturday, April 14, 2007 SkyDive Houston is hosting Four Way Scrambles! We will take different skill level jumpers and mix them to a 4way team. You will jump with that team all day for five jumps and be judged as a whole. Four jumps rookie style, with the fifth jump to be a timed 4way speed star with bonus points. Each team will consist of a team captain, intermediate, beginner and a NEWBIE. At this time we have enough interested for six teams. We will have a meeting at 7:45am on April 14 where we will break into teams and have a short briefing from our S&TA Henry Butler. Pack a lunch and be prepared to have some fun! Prizes will be awarded to top teams. And for after the jumping... A donated benefit dinner will also catered in with two kegs of beverages. All proceeds going to the Nelson Suarez family in his time of need. Please direct your questions to Todd Bell at tbellemtp(at)yahoo.com.

I need INFO!!!! we're working on a Plan-B in case of a weather problem. More details should be posted later today or tonight.
kris2extreme 0 #12 April 13, 2007 ATTENTION!!! UPDATED!! PLAN B! Ok everybody, it looks like the weather is trying to work against us to spoil our fun, but we’re determined not to let it. Looking at various weather reports, we’re forecasted for anywhere from 15 to 27 knot winds coming from the NW, our most turbulent direction. If that holds true, here is what we’re looking at doing. We’re still looking to get together at 8am for meeting and splitting into teams. Then after meeting the new faces we can spend some time dirt-diving and learning the formations a little bit. If the weather is good, then we’re on for some jumping. If the weather conditions are iffy for jumping, then we’re still going to be able to get some competition in, and we can include the rest of the whuffo family in with. We’re looking to get a softball game together (so bring your mitt!), and we’ll have the horseshoe pits setup for some a team horseshoes tournament. If the weather is still iffy, when we get the green light, the beer light will go on and the food and beer can be delivered as early as 4pm. If we get weathered out on Saturday, we will continue with the competition Sunday morning as those conditions look much more favorable. We will make an announcement at the DZ on Saturday with the final plans so everybody knows what is going on. Now for what it’s really all about, the Suarez family. As many know, Nelson was injured at the beginning of this month in Temple. And this weekend is really about getting everyone together to help this family out in their time of need. We will be having a catered dinner with a couple of kegs out for everybody’s enjoyment, as well as several raffles and auctions for some really great items. With ALL of the proceeds going to the Suarez family. Nelson will be in attendance Saturday afternoon showing that even though he’s a little broken, he still knows how to have fun! So if you wake up Saturday morning, and you look out the window and the weather is iffy… just go ahead and get up, showered, and dressed. And make your way on out anyways. We’ve got a great day of fun planned out no matter what the conditions are! And for you out-of-towners, the bunk rooms are going to be clean and ready to go, so come early and stake your place out. turtlespeed 221 #15 April 13, 2007 QuoteDamn! I did say I had to work but if the weather DOES go south, I'm driving to Waller. Bring It! I'm thinking a Shoe tourney is warranted - IF - and only if the weather turns on us - But this is Waller - if you don't like the weather - wait 15 minutes and it will change - I really don't see it being as bad as the weather dot com says . . . I tend to trust NOAA better anyway. See you there! And don't forget - it's about family - I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
