Sebastian or Z-Hills

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at coming out to Florida from the UK for work in a few weeks time and will extend my trip for a few days to a week to get some jumping in while I'm over there. Where I'm staying for work is about halfway between Sebastian and Z-Hills, so where do people suggest I go at this time of the year?

I can head up freefly, have 250 jumps and am just looking for a few fun jumps, somewhere reasonably cheap to stay, and looking to meet some friendly people while I'm over there.

cheers for any advice!

Z-Hills of course - but I am biased - I run the place....

TK

FYI, we start closing Tues/Wed for the summer on May 1. We operate a Twin Otter every day and generally fly several loads each day, even in the slow summer weekdays. Weekends are still very busy with 20-25 loads each day

I've never jumped at Sebastian, but I've heard great things. That being said, TK is right, he's got a great place at Z-Hills. When (my) Cora and I visited there, we were welcomed like returning family members. It's got an excellent vibe and great people. You won't be doing yourself a disservice by jumping there.

Zhills for belly flying or wingsuit, Sebastian for freefly. Each dz has seems to have more of one discipline than the other. Sebastian also has a staff that is mostly From the UK, and great views. If you're between the two, Lake wales may be closest, but I don't know anyone who goes there anymore....

thanks for the comments guys, I may well have to split my time between the two! :)

I would!

3 weekends ago my friends and I flew to FL to have some fun in the wind tunnel in Orlando.
We stopped by ZHills and Deland (both about 1hr + away from Orlando) ; beautiful drop zones; nice people; great jumps.
I didn't have the chance to go to Sebastian, but I've heard it has the most beautiful view, since is on the coast and the beach is right there.

try to manage your time there and visit all 3 of them.
hope you have a great trip.
have fun!
