astromusette 0 #1 May 10, 2007 I will be in Kauai next week -- has anyone jumped there? I will be mostly scuba diving (ok- the excuse for going is to attend a friend's wedding, but it sounded like a good dive trip) & will have to give up a day of scuba in order to skydive - is it worth it, or should I wait for my long-awaited skydive #2 until I get back to California, where I scubadive all the time anyway? RyanOBrian 0 #2 May 10, 2007 I've never been to Kauai. But I live in Oahu and jump there. All they do in Kauai is tandems, but if that's what your planning on I say do it! Oahu has an awsome view under canopy and I can imagine it'll be the exact same there if not better
skyjumpsteve 0 #3 May 10, 2007 Kauai is beautiful......you will have a great time SCUBA diving but certainly try to do a jump if you can. Book it early in the morning when winds are not a factor and then enjoy SCUBA the rest of the day.
bodypilot1 0 #4 May 10, 2007 The DZ in Kauai is a Cessna DZ. If you dont have a reservation, there will probably be no one there at the "bus". It's a very small "Fandango" type operation, and that side of the island isn't pretty either. I'd say go for the scuba diving and skydive in Cali somewhere thats less money to jump, larger aircraft for higher altitude. But if you do go, ask for Marcus. astromusette 0 #5 May 10, 2007 Thanks for the contrasting views. . . now I have to make a decision . . . By the way, I'm new to this sport & had to do a search on "Fandango" . . . I take it it's a movie . . . I think I get the gist of it from what I was reading. . . small, casual operation?
