Amazon 7 #3 June 27, 2007 Lost Prairie..11 days of summer fun in Montana Best weather of ANY boogie... warm days cool nights...I have yet to see it rain there during the boogie... warm and dry.. like 90 degrees with 50% or less humidity..unlike the other boogies farther east muggy and crap ass thunderstorms. First loads of the day at 9am... late but great for sleeping off the party the night before....now you may be thinking that cuts down on the jumping day.... BUT....sunset load is about 9:15 PM and still light enough to land at 10 PM. we are talking LONG summer days. Not too big.. not too small. Good lift aircraft from Skydive Arizona.. so there is never a ery long wait for any load. Good load organizing.. and a variety of it as well. GEEEEZ I forgot... LANG CREEK BREWERY... is only about 10 miles from the DZ....home of Skydiver Blonde ale.. and Trimotor Amber....and Mandarin Hefewiesen....

livendive 8 #5 June 28, 2007 Quoteme personally i have 3. Thomaston halloween boogie Dublin and the annual boogie at the farm. I've only been once, but the Thomaston Halloween Boogie last year was a fucking blast. Very, very different from LP, which I'd have to list as my favorite, but top notch regardless. Dublin was fun too, but I didn't notice anything that made it substantially better than other good boogies. Again, I've only been once, and the events on Saturday probably contributed mightily to the somewhat subdued party that night. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" LOL And after Haloween this year I will have pounced on all of the above - PLUS - possibly the bestest Boogie I have ever experianced, Lost Praire, Although the Weather is Terrible, the skydiving Sucks, the beer is warm, and there are too many Canadians, it still manages to be a pretty interesting time.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

lauraliscious 0 #11 June 28, 2007 Yeah, kind of depends on what you want out of a boogie. I tend to agree with what's already been said though... Dublin Skydive Atlanta Halloween Emerald Coast Beach boogie (memorial day) Haven't been to Skyfest or Summerfest yet, but I AM going to Lost Prarie this year. Hope to add it to my list of favorites. hajnalka 0 #14 July 2, 2007 Keka - I second that about the Raeford boogie - what an amazing time! I seriously hope it's an annual event now. Our gold standard has always been the Eloy holiday boogie. I suggest you gather up a bunch of people from your DZ and GO! - or, just go to Eloy for any event betw. about Oct. and Mar., and enjoy that Arizona magic. This DZ kicks serious ass, and their events are second to none. I was only at WFFC once. Might get flamed for this, but -- Scary stuff. Seemed like too much carnage + debauchery for me, and I didn't care to go back. I believe this was in '96 or 7. Maybe it was better in the old days? I've heard wonderful reports from both Lost Prairie and Skyfest attendees, but have not been to either. Maybe one of these years ... Best, D p.s. If you're an apres-skydiver and prefer after-beer light activities, hands down the best pics I've ever seen were from the Naughty Cupid boogie . wmw999 2,439 #15 July 2, 2007 You have 58 jumps and you're in Texas. Skyfest is likely the one that you'll have the most fun at right now. And it's in only 2 weeks! Dublin is supposed to be a lot of fun. But as long as we have a wayback machine, the 1979 fall Herd boogie was pretty awesome . Car bash, bonfire, balloon, RW, lingerie jump -- you name it, it happened Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. skinnyshrek 0 #21 July 2, 2007 Yes but if i remember skyfest that year was a fucking mudfest. Had to hide in the camper between each load. Also, at night if you didn't have a camper you were stuck outside as the hangar was locked up. If the weather is nice i am sure you can get a shit load of jumps in. In a boogie i also like the night entertainment, the social aspect of a boogie. That i believe is the only thing missing from skyfest.http://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? Amazon 7 #22 July 2, 2007 Come to the NW...Montana has PERFECT weather in the summer... that is something I ALWAYS put at the top of my boogie list...If you do not have good weather.. you are NOT jumping and summer in Montana at the end of July means that clouds are just about non existent. Temps in the 80's and low 90s with humidity at less than 50%....crystal clear lakes...mountains.. and a few hundreds of fellow partying skydivers....whats not to love about the Lost Prairie Boogie. upndownshop 0 #23 July 3, 2007 Quote Yes but if i remember skyfest that year was a fucking mudfest. Quote One year out of 6 we had rain, we still did more than 1700 jumps in the 1.5 days available. Had to hide in the camper between each load. Also, at night if you didn't have a camper you were stuck outside as the hangar was locked up. Quote The difference between a hangar and a tent at night is what? If the weather is nice i am sure you can get a shit load of jumps in. In a boogie i also like the night entertainment, the social aspect of a boogie. That i believe is the only thing missing from skyfest. Bit of an oxymoron dont ya think? We did 3000 jumps in 3 days last year, that would never happen if we catered to the night life........IMO the social part of a boogie is the jumping, people joining together to teach, learn and have fun.....in the sky.... And we like to be up and jumping by 8 am on a sunday morning not sleeping till noon, well most of the time.... Ok thats a lie i will sleep in on Sunday....its my time to get a break...So if you want to party....well SF may not be the best place for that.....but if you want 18 manufacturers, 15 LO's, specialty AC and a ton of jumps....we will leave the dash 34's running for you.
