Skydiving in Mexico

Recommended Posts

I'll be on a Mexican Riveria cruise in November and am wondering if there is a DZ in Acapulco, Puerta Varreta, Cabo or Ixtapa that permits experienced skydivers to jump. I know that some places have DZ's but only do tandems. If you have any info I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks :)

As far as I know, there is no dz in Puerto Vallarta. There was one briefly for part of one winter a few years ago, but it didn't stay open for the full season and didn'r re-open the following year.

And I don't know anything about Acapulco.

You should be able to jump at Cabo and/ or Ixtapa but you should check their websites as your trip gets closer. I know for sure Ixtapa is seasonal, and I assume the one in Cabo is as well. Plan on bringing your own gear and flotation device, and remember the little stuff like rubber bands since you won't have access to a full service gear shop. You might not be able to make too many jumps because the pace at these seasonal dropzones is a little more laid back, but I've jumped in Ixtapa and its beautiful!
