leslieb 0 #1 October 8, 2007 Hey, I'm headed up to N Carolina next tuesdayish.. the 16th, from Atlanta. I'm wanna fly in the paraclete tunnel (is it even open?) and maybe stick around @ some dz's if it's worth it. Any suggestions?
Bolas 5 #2 October 8, 2007 You looking for jumps during the week? That might be a little tough.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
wngarner 0 #3 October 8, 2007 The only NC dz open Wed-Thursday is in Raeford, NC, about 3 miles from the tunnel. Problem, the tunnel was supposed to open on Oct 15th but now its looking more like Oct 21, but if you can call and see, they are still selling the tunnel time at 750 an hour (a 25% discount). Otherwise, NC has 3 cessna dzs (coastal, adrenaline, and tradewinds) and 1 other turbine dz (css - where I jump), all of which are open Friday-Sunday. Talk to Bolas about Chester, however - its in South Carolina just south of the NC border and a great time and a turbine - don't know the days they are open however! Bolas 5 #4 October 8, 2007 Chester (Skydive Carolina) is primarily a weekend DZ. They do have a Cessna but you'd need to call ahead.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
McDuck 0 #5 October 9, 2007 Due to some construction delays, the Paraclete tunnel isn't quite ready for the public yet. As for jumping at Raeford during the middle of the week, you can always show up at the DZ. There are typically at least a few people waiting around to make a jump or two, and now that our current pilot states that the Cessna is FUN to fly, I'm sure he'll be happy to put a load up in it. Bolas 5 #7 October 26, 2007 Sucks to hear. I liked that place. Dude, she's way past NC. Not even sure if she's still in the country. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
druvaughn 0 #8 October 26, 2007 Coastal Carolinas, while ussually pretty slow, is not closed, as in "Closed Forever". They were actually flying tandems and a couple up jumpers Tuesday, or Monday I think. I will be there next weekend jumping. Don't think that helps the original poster though. Coastal has great beach jumps!!! Best, Dru- - "Baseball is 90% mental. The other half is physical."
