NWFlyer 2 #53 January 24, 2008 I don't get there till Friday morning - going straight into the meetings, probably a bit after they start. But hopefully after the General Membership meeting Friday night breaks up for lack of a quorum we can get that lack of a quorum to head out somewhere fun for dinner nearby. My hotel's within walking distance and IIRC there's lots of stuff around there. "There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. chaoskitty 0 #54 January 24, 2008 Laura and I land in Orlando just before 10am, and we'll head straight over. Think it'd be rude to ask them not to start without us?

It’s quite clear no other information will be made public and it will be a closed meeting “for the most part”. What I have to say has been said/heard, “OVER and OVER and OVER again”. flyhi 24 #59 January 24, 2008 Quotethere's lots of stuff around there. Universal City Walk is very close. At that time, it should be free parking and free entry. Choice of Emeril's (Yikes on the wallet), Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, Hard Rock, NBA cafe, NASCAR cafe, Bob Marley's replica house Jamaican restaurant, and a few others. I think they may have their Mardi Gras celebration then. Usually a street party on Friday and Saturday. I'm guessing the band Orange Avenue will be playing. Almost, but not quite a Green Day cover. They do some other stuff. If staying on International Drive, be careful. There's a lot to do, but a lot of people there, too. Some can be seen in the dictionary under the word unsavory. A lower rate of 1,181 incidents still works out to more than three a day.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

johndh1 0 #69 January 28, 2008 I'm booked beginning Thursday. I am still debating the driving v. flying thing. Some advice: don't tell them you are with USPA if you call, because they charge a higher rate than their website advertises for booking online (like $20.00 a day) compared to this "winter getaway" or whatever they call it. I have been informed this usually happens with the past Shriners...errr...USPA meetings. If the online booking returns "N/A" call them, and you should get a room. AAA membership gets a discount too, whether you remember to bring your card or not... And, TC/SC, please attend anyway. At least your questions have merit response - I have not yet heard back from the busy Kaiser himself so I can only assume I am presumed yet another of the daft free-thinking-yet-unintimidated Peanut Gallery this administration so obviously despises. johndh1 0 #71 January 28, 2008 Well, in that case, no question as to whether to drive or fly...it's a gol-darn geographic anomaly - 2 hours from everywhere! And now they are bona-fide with the lifetime memberships...no, wait, those are stipulations from the super-secret settlement so boasted publicly by the Roach King himself at Beezy's memorial (couth be damned). Blow him; impeach her. Glad my money is going to good use.Roll Tide Roll

Due to unanticipated personal response, I want to make clear that by "administration," I meant a portion of the USPA leadership who I feel are steering pet issues and personal vendetta, not the board as a whole. I apologize for not being more specific - I do not see the majority of the BOD as adversarial. Hopefully after next weekend that sentiment will remain.Roll Tide Roll
