AliMac 0 #1 January 30, 2008 Hey everyone, I'm in Tucson AZ visiting my sister until friday and was wondering what Skydive AZ was like, I don't have my license but do have 5 tandems so far, I'll be pursuing my A license at The Ranch in NY when their school opens, I would love to make a jump while I am down here and meet some new people but I would have to rent a car as well as pay for the jump and the video of the jump, just curious to know if its worth spending all the money or maybe its better to go to the DZ and just hang out, maybe get in the tunnel for a few? Help me out!
bodypilot1 0 #2 January 30, 2008 It worth making the trip to the DZ. If your going to do your training in the spring at The Ranch, I'd suggest tunnel time instead of doing a tandem. If it's nice outside and you have the cash, do both.www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
Remster 30 #3 January 30, 2008 I agree Ed... The DZ will be somewhat quiet during the week, but still busy enough with a few teams training. Doing a few minutes in the tunnel would be great to do before you start at the ranch!Remster
AliMac 0 #4 January 30, 2008 I only really have the money to do one of them if I get the video of the tandem... I can't decide what to do! There is a tunnel a few hours away from where I live and I'm not sure when I'll be back in AZ to be able to jump.. I guess I could give up the video and to a tandem and some time in the tunnel, then i get the best of both worlds though i would like to have the video.. I dunno!! bodypilot1 0 #5 January 30, 2008 Video of you doing a tandem is worthless for your learning progression. Spend your money wisely and do tunnel time. You'll have plenty of video of you skydiving after you have finished your AFF training. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
AliMac 0 #6 January 30, 2008 Thanks for the advice guys! If I can get the rental care situation figured out then i'll be doing a tandem and 4 minutes in the tunnel tomorrow!
sdctlc 0 #7 January 30, 2008 QuoteThanks for the advice guys! If I can get the rental care situation figured out then i'll be doing a tandem and 4 minutes in the tunnel tomorrow! Should be a good time if you get to do it. If your visiting your sis, cant she help out in terms of a transport? Borrow a car or find another friend that wants to go as well?? Either way have fun! the video did not seem to make sense if you have already 5 tandems.. Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
AliMac 0 #8 January 30, 2008 Unfortunately it doesn't look like its going to work out.. my sister doesn't have a car here and the rental company is giving me a hard time about credit cards and such.. we don't know anyone out here to borrow a car from... I'm so bummed, i just wanted to fly!
mrken 0 #9 January 31, 2008 Crap man, if I were in Tucson right now I would give you a lift. Might be worth calling the DZ and see if you can mooch a ride from a Tucson jumper. How long are you in Tucson for? I could make a couple calls here from Germany to see if a couple of my friends are on their way up to there (or at least passing by there on their way to another dz) if you like? AliMac 0 #10 January 31, 2008 My flight out of Tucson is at Midnight on Friday night. I am amazed at the people who are trying to help me, the skydiving community is so full of the nicest most helpful people i think i've ever met. I really appreciate all the help! Remster 30 #11 January 31, 2008 Kinda sucks you are here doing weekdays... There would be plenty of us to give a lift to the DZ over the weekend... Till next time!Remster
AliMac 0 #12 January 31, 2008 Yeah I wish I could stay for the weekend. I flew in for the week to see my ungrateful sister who was injured while on a hiking trip with NOLS. Shes fine and heads back out with her group friday morning and I fly home friday night. I tried to set this up for earlier in the week but couldn't. I guess it just means I have to make another trip out here!
