Zid 0 #1 February 1, 2008 Hello! We are from Germany and next December, we want to make some jumps in America, because its bad cold here in Germany at this time. Our question is: Is it a good idea to go to Eloy (our favourite at the moment) or is it better to go to somewhere in Florida? When i take a look at the temperatures in Eloy at the moment, i think its cold there in Winter, too Our goal is to find al place to make 6-10 jumps a day... Please, help us Thanks! Superfletch 1 #2 February 1, 2008 The Christmas Boogie at Skydive City, Zephyrhills, FL is hard to beat. They will easily have the lift capacity with 4 Twin Otters to get you and your bros plus about 600 other jumpers in the air anytime you want. This Missouri boy goes every year. :D 'Cause it's cold in Missouri in December too. Remster 30 #3 February 1, 2008 We went to the East Coast (FL) when we live in Toronto... And while the weather can be nice, its more of a crap shoot then Eloy is. With Eloy, you can count on jumping. It may be cold (close to freezing at 7 AM, then warmer) but you will most likely jump. In FL, you could get quite a bit of weather. Both place are fine tho!Remster
skymama 37 #4 February 1, 2008 The weather is definitely warmer in FL in December. I've hardly worn any long sleeve shirts at all this winter here. You'll also have your pick of a lot of dz's to go to within a 2 hour drive of each other. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

There is a lot going on in December, and some great New Years parties also. This year's winter weather has been very good so far this year! Getting into the 70's today! Tink1717 2 #6 February 1, 2008 Florida will give you the choice of more drop zones, and is generally warmer than Eloy is at that time of year. But if you want to be someplace where everything is located on the DZ and you don't have to go anywhere else, Eloy is your best bet. I've been to both places and in December, I'd go to Florida.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. Squeak 17 #9 February 4, 2008 a lot of the replies you just got are from people LIVINIG in FLA. I have just come back from the States and went to BOTH AZ and Fla. I would go back to AZ in a hearty beat over Fla at this time of year. AZ is cold in the morning but clear consistant mild temps all day, almost everyday. No humidity, no cloud cover issues, qnd little if any rain. Not to mention some of the best skydivers on the planet are there, aswell as some OUTSTANDING people. Betsy Amy Remi/Karen Eliana Greg Gasson Omar I loved the place. I also enjoyed Florida, but for skydiving i would revisit Skydive Ariznoa,You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? It may freeze at night but it is almost gauranteed to be blue skies and mid 70's by noon this time of year. Eloy also has more aircraft full time with less wait to get on loads than any other place I've been period! If you want to skydive your as off,go to eloy. Florida is nice but eloy is the place to make a crap load of skydives or play in the tunnel with some of the best in the business wether it be freefly or RW. Already thinking where to get money for the next year. You can get everything you want there as well tunnel is only an hour away which to me is nothing. People are super cool good vibes all around. Never been to AZ tho so can't speak about that place. But with florida can't go wrong! And at Eloy you can walk to a bigger tunnel. People keep mentioning parties, I think the locals forget that when you fly in from Germany or UK or wherever your main priority is going to be jumping (and possibly some tunnel too) - not parties. You can party in Europe in the middle of winter, it is jumping people miss the most. I live in London, I've jumped in Florida and Az. For me Eloy offers the best value as far as jumping and tunnel go. Value being not just price but where can I make the most amount of quality jumps in a limited time with the best chance of jumpable weather in that time. Of the 3 bigger (>12') tunnels I believe Eloy offers the best value for money hands down right now.
