Cold-air-rising 0 #1 February 25, 2008 I was planning on going to Airborne Adventures for my first jump but then I noticed there website had not been updated since 04'. As well they do not provide an e-mail address and both phone numbers do not work. Is there anyone in Massachusettes that can help me out in the springfield area as to weather there are any dz's nearby. Thank You
IanHarrop 41 #2 February 25, 2008 see in the bar above where it says Dropzones... you can find DZs everywhere. http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/North_America/United_States/Massachusetts/index.html"Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
howardwhite 6 #3 February 25, 2008 Airborne Adventures did not operate in 2007, although it apparently took reservations and deposits. There are unconfirmed rumors that a new owner/group of owners will reopen it. Meanwhile, Jumptown and CPI are both nearby. Jumptown has a Super Otter and a Cessna; CPI has a Cessna and will probably have a Caravan again this season. Both are great, friendly and safe places to jump. arl120384 0 #5 March 8, 2008 Hey, Jumptown is the way to go. Its my home DZ and wouldn't jump anywhere else. Theres only one other in MA that accepts experienced jumpers, but they are smaller, not as busy, and I have heard some not so good things about them. We have a Super Otter and a 182. It gets pretty busy on the weekends with about 20-/+ otter loads. They have a great staff of AFF and senior instructors/tandem masters etc. I would highly recommend Jumptown if your looking to jump in MA. You'll have a lot more fun in skydiving when you realize that every DZ has its ups and downs (hey, that was almost a pun!). New England is full of great dropzones. Travel around and decide for yourself about each DZ. You'll hear "not so good things" about every dropzone... when you're somewhere else. Dave
