Skydivesg 7 #1 March 27, 2008 Skydive Iowa is hosting it's annual Jumpstart Boogie May 9, 10 & 11. This is a great dz with nice vibes. Skydive Chicago is providing the Super Otter and there will be a 4 way meet for the NPSL with coaching by Robert Chromy of Deland. Also PD will be there with demos along with Mirage and the G4 and UPT Vector will be providing the Skyhook demos. This is a great boogie to start the season off in the Midwest. We hope to see you there.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
Unstable 9 #2 March 27, 2008 Hmmm. a Boogie?!? Right after finals week? Sounds like a plan!=========Shaun ==========
skyh2omedic 0 #3 March 27, 2008 I met chromy a few trips back to Deland-he has a bunk house and i stayed there once-great guy and excellent coach. Plus it's birthday weekend for me. I'll have to talk to the other Missouri boy and see if he's interested-sounds like a good way to kick the summer off and then a month later we have the Peggs boogie at KSUPC, then a week later the Hillbilly boogie. Come on summer."You can't teach what you don't know and you can't lead where you won't go"
Skydivesg 7 #4 March 27, 2008 Chromy will there all three days. Very cool guy. I just got word that we'll have balloon jumps as well. Free camping * hot showers * huge bon fires *Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
JnB30 0 #5 March 28, 2008 Jumpstart Boogie is always a great Boogie and Skydive Iowa is a really nice DZ.
JustChuteMeNow 0 #6 March 29, 2008 I had a great time at the boogie last year and I will definitely be there. All the girls(except Jeni) need to be thinking about getting us extra altitude again this year. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
Skydivesg 7 #7 March 30, 2008 But Jeni can get us so much more altitude. I don't think it's fair to exclude her.........Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
JustChuteMeNow 0 #8 March 30, 2008 Well OK she can do it but everyone on the load has to promise not to look.On another topic will Nick be bringing a full complement of demo canopies again this year? Skydivesg 7 #9 April 1, 2008 Yeah, he'll have more than 30 canopies from PD including the Optimum reserve. It's an awsome canopy you should try it.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

Skydivesg 7 #12 April 4, 2008 BTW: Balloon jumps are only $60.00 and he can take 8 people. That could be the best deal in the country.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
JnB30 0 #13 April 9, 2008 Who is the balloon pilot this year?
Skydivesg 7 #14 April 13, 2008 Russ Lucas is bringing his big balloon. This is especially good because Russ is an experienced jumper and is on staff as a tandem instructor so he'll be there all weekend. Unlike some balloon pilots who look at the wind froecast and then decide to stay home. Russ rents one of the dz rooms and will be up bright and early to catch the sunrise (and the sunset).Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be. rehmwa 2 #15 April 14, 2008 QuoteJumpstart Boogie is always a great Boogie and Skydive Iowa is a really nice DZ. Bruce has always put a lot back into his DZ, it's one of my favorite places to jump. And having Chromy there for the 4-way coaching is a huge plus - he's given a LOT to the NPSL and continues to every year. ... skydivedog912 0 #18 April 17, 2008 How much is registration? How much is it to demo gear?
Skydivesg 7 #19 April 18, 2008 QuoteHow much is registration? How much is it to demo gear? Registration is free..... nothing .......nada!!!! Gear demos are free as well. Just show up and jump. I suggest that if you want to demo a particular rig or canopy that you go to the gear reps right away to let them know. They always get busier in the afternoon and evenings.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
skydivedog912 0 #20 April 18, 2008 Any organizers going to be there? I am considering going but I dont know anyone there and might end up doing solo's all weekend...
Skydivesg 7 #21 April 19, 2008 Yes. We have people who will jump with anyone and make them feel like they're the most important person at the boogie. Because they are. You'll only do solos if you insist on it.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
JnB30 0 #22 April 21, 2008 BerryGood cafe will be serving a spaghetti dinner on Saturday night. Complete with salad and garlic bread. There will be a meatless version for those who prefer. So make sure you stop by the cafe and buy your dinner ticket.
skydivedog912 0 #23 April 22, 2008 Are night jumps an option? I know most people get drunk at boogies as soon as the sun goes down but if there a poeple willing to do night jumps will they be allowed? I guess the only thing you need to do night jumps is a sober pilot, sober jumpers and a good place to land.
diverds 0 #24 April 23, 2008 If they have runway lights (I'm not sure if they do) I would be willing to stay sober and fly a night load but there are other considerations. For one the management would need to say it's okay and provide a briefing. Also, strobes would have to be rounded up for the jumpers. -Dave Skydive Radio
JustChuteMeNow 0 #25 April 24, 2008 Sylvia, Jeni and I will be getting there on Friday. When will the plane be arriving to start the party jumping?
