Kolomna this year

I was thinking of spending a few weeks in Aerograd Kolomna (Russia) this august. My only concern so far, they're hosting the RW nationals from august 18-24. In the best case that means more jumps, more parties, etc. In the worst it means hardly any jumps for funjumpers because the planes are busy with competition loads. I think that really depends on the DZ and how it's organized.

So.. has anyone been in Kolomna during a competition, probably even as a non-competitor? Would be great to get a hint or two what to expect..

We will operate as usual - no any restrictions for non-competittors.
We have 4 L-410s and Mi-8 helicopter to work non-stop even on large competitions.

I'm really looking forward to coming to Russia.. currently waiting for the visa to arrive (should be in the next days).

I hear there's a gear shop on the DZ. Do you know how I can contact the people from the shop? I wanted to ask them if they sell wide angle lenses for video cams..

these russians are all crazy.. but they sure know how to skydive.

just came back from kolomna.. and I have to say the place rocks. Maybe the best (and definitely the biggest) dropzone in europe. Lots of planes, smooth operation, friendly and helpful people, wild parties.. all you need.
not to mention the hottest women you'll ever see on a dropzone .

thanks for an awesome time in the great wild east.. I'll definitely come back.
