RMURRAY 1 #1 May 13, 2008 Just a note to announce a full time turbine for the 2008 season. We are all going crazy about new possibilities opened up. Thanks to DZO Adam Mabee and STL where the plane was based previously! RM
pilotdave 0 #2 May 14, 2008 Looks familiar! Here's a few hundred more pics of it... http://www.skydivingstills.com/keyword/caravan So the most important thing you need to know... your pilot's nickname is House Boy. Unfortunately I did not find that out until it was too late. He got the name at a previous dropzone. Please be sure to spread that. Dave
jimmytavino 16 #3 May 14, 2008 Rub it In.... why don't ya'????!!! hahahaha.. cool plane, capable and drop zone savvy pilot... Hey!!!... could you look into flying south , across the lake, on descent... and picking up,, say,, a dozen jumpers from here??? and bringing us to baldwin for the day,,, or NIGHT,,, and then returning us?? the next day, after we've made some jumps??? ??? is the plane part 135? might be nice, Once in a while...probably not feasible though from the logistics point of view...well have fun... skydive safely pics attached from the Cessna 208B visit , last year. jmy

Thanks to DZO Adam Mabee and STL where the plane was based previously! RM Had a chance to jump the new Caravan at PST a few times last weekend, and all I have to say is: wow, what a sweet ride. Very comfortable take-offs, quick climb to 13.5, and well equiped with roll-up door, front and rear outside steps, floater bars... ..i guess PST won't be known any more only as a dropzone that flies all Canadian Winter in a plane with no door... gravitywhore 0 #5 May 16, 2008 I was up in the Caravan last weekend .....what a great jump ship .... It's nice to have a turbine so close to so many people ......It was bizzare sitting in a plane with 14 other people , having only jumped small cessnas up until now .. such a quick take off from our grass strip ... Thanx to Adam for bringing soo much joy ....
Zarkon 0 #6 May 16, 2008 Yea, customs wouldn't mind too much! Grats on the plane, tell House Boy we said hi
pilotdave 0 #7 May 16, 2008 You guys must have a long runway... those takeoffs scared the crap out of us for the first couple months with that plane. Used almost every inch of our runway. But that was with a different pilot. Jason used a lot less runway. And you guys got it with a brand new door. The old door sucked... we had to ride it all the way down from 13,500 feet once when the door jammed. Had some cold rides when the door was removed for a weekend. We never appreciated the plane enough... it was a downgrade for us after we lost our Super Otter. Now we're down to Cessnas... Dave
RMURRAY 1 #8 May 21, 2008 Jason has said we will probably limit to 17 maximum - which means leg room for everyone. Yes, a (slight) downgrade from a Super Otter but on the other hand this Caravan will fly with less jumpers (10 I believe) - this is a good thing at a med sized Canadian DZ. Should be hopping this weekend - weather looks good. Thanks for your comments.... RM
pilotdave 0 #9 May 21, 2008 Yeah we were limited to 17, or occasionally less on hot days after fueling or when the copilot's seat was installed for training. Can't imagine that thing with 21 on board. Our minimum was normally 14, so we didn't have much wiggle room as far as planning loads went. Dave

Thanks to DZO Adam Mabee and STL where the plane was based previously! RM glad to announce that our DZO has said we have the same great pilot (Jason) and plane back this year. Except with a paint job and a new 900HP engine - will be the fastest climbing jump Caravan on the planet! RM
