Yes, student cypreses are a different story. They are even a problem in a rapidly descending plane. We don't use student cypreses any more even on our students for that reason.

ENOUGH with the Cypri!!!!!

Its a trademark.

Its doesnt get plurilized.

It shouldnt even be mentioned by itself (its not "a Cypres" its "a Cypres AAD" or "a Cypres unit" or whatever you want to call it ). If you want to plurilize it, plurilize the noum (AAD or unit)....

Hmph! Since we're ranting:

(from Cambridge International Dictionary of English)

pluralize, British and Australian
usually -ise
verb [T]
Certain nouns, such as 'guilt', cannot be pluralized (=made into a form in which they express more than one).

>It shouldnt even be mentioned by itself

-"So what kind of gear do you use?"
-"I jump a VX canopy normally, but it's being relined so I'm borrowing a Spectre canopy."
-"Ok... What car do you drive?"
-"A Fiat car."

As an alumnus and former faculty member of Cambridge University I feel bad mentioning this , but most of us take the OXFORD English Dictionary as definitive.;)
