npgraphicdesign 3 #1 October 18, 2008 Might be visiting a friend in LA mid-January. How's the jumping weather in those parts? My friend is about 1 hr away from Elsinore so I was contemplating getting some jumps in, regardless of whether I finish my license by then or not. Would love to hear some input. Oh fellow experienced skydivers, learn a noobie something he doesn't know!
champu 1 #2 October 18, 2008 Generally, pretty good. It'll be cool on the ground during the day and cold at altitude and at night. We get some clouds/rain during that time but not a lot. The cool air keeps the winds steady, whatever they're doing, and they don't do crazy stuff like they can here in the summer. Late February / March / Early April is usually our cloudy and rainy season.
ASTKU 1 #3 October 18, 2008 Couldn't really tell ya. Ive been to Elsinore but got so fucking wasted the saturday night I got there the last thing I wanted to do was jump on sunday. I was still drunk at like 3 in the afternoon..... I ended up jumping at Skydive SanDiego later that week and that was very nice!

ladydyver 0 #11 October 20, 2008 I am quite biased but I love elsinore...was there three times last year and will be there at least twice this year ---- nice thing is you are very close to perris so you can hit the wind tunnel or the dz as well. When we went down last year we actually went to jump in sandiego but they were having fires so went up to perris --- winds were 30-40 ....went to elsinore and they were putting loads up; so that is where we stayed. Loved it so much we keep going back --- DPH # 2 "I am not sure what you are suppose to do with that, but I don't think it is suppose to flop around like that." ~Skootz~ I have a strong regard for the rules.......doc! joelofland 0 #13 October 24, 2008 Elsinore kicks ass!! Really fun dz with a chill vibe. I went in Jan, weather was sunny mid 60s-70s. If you stay at the casino about two miles down the road they have a skydiver discount. $50 gets you a nice room with two queen beds, flat screen tv, and the rooms have been recently updated. Thanks Joe. I'm actually going to stay at the bunkhouse, because I want to be as close as possible and be up in the sky as much as possible. Even 2 miles is a long commute when you want to be in the air...Besides, I'm not a skydiver yet...so I would probably not be eligible for a discount
