Deisel 38 #1 December 11, 2008 Anyone know of anything going on at any of the Va DZs this weekend? I'm stuck in Quantico for the weekend and looking for something to do... DThe brave may not live forever, but the timid never live at all.

EDYDO 0 #3 December 11, 2008 Hi Louis, I just heard from 3 of them. Orange will be open if the weather is good. Louisa will only be open if they can add a few tandems to the group. West Point will be open weather permitting with a King Air. I have not heard from Suffolk, but Simon just responded to your post and he can tell you. debussyschild 0 #4 December 11, 2008 Folks are definitely jumping at West Point (Skydive the Point) this weekend. www.skydivethepoint.com Very easy to get to from Quantico. Take 95 south, get on 295 south, take exit for 64 east, then get on route 33 (exit #220) toward west point. Make a right on Airport Road to go to Middle Peninsula Airport. They're scheduling a night jump, too, Saturday night... if interested (and QUALIFIED) contact the DZO. Warning: it is COLD."For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will long to return." EXTremeWade 0 #5 December 11, 2008 Hey Man!! Skydive Suffolk, as Mr. Bones said, is open too! I am not sure if you are a Marine, but I was one and would love to share some stories with you. I have 2 friends coming from Le June this weekend to do AFF, and 2 doing Tandems. We are having a bon-fire, live music, and the PAC-750 will be flying hot all weekend. Cooking out starts promptly at sun-down, and the fridge is packed with good beer (Simon can attest to this). Our sleeping areas are heated, and cozy. Freefly, RW, CRW, Spaceballs...we are rocking it this weekend! Not to mention, Skydive Suffolk has THE cheapest jump tickets in Virginia. Hands down! Deisel 38 #6 December 12, 2008 Thanks guys. It looks like I was wrong assuming that there wasn't much happenning this weekend. I'm holding out on any commitments until I see just how cold it's going to be. But it sounds like you guys are pretty hard-core about this jumping in the cold shit! And yes I'm a Marine so of course I can never let myself be outdone... DThe brave may not live forever, but the timid never live at all.
