drapsmann 0 #1 December 30, 2008 I'm trying to do a bit of planning for a delayed honeymoon for my wife and I. Got married and deployed shortly there after. Anyways, what are your guy's recommendations for location that has a dropzone that is nearby. I was looking at Hawaii, but I figured I'd ask here. Thanks! skymama 37 #2 December 30, 2008 Are you just looking for dz's in the states? What time of year? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
drapsmann 0 #3 December 30, 2008 Could be anywhere, and lets say May-June timeframe. It's kind of like falling off your couch...
Snowflake 0 #4 December 30, 2008 I'd go for the Puerto Rico Boogie. It's cheap to get to the VI/BVI from there and PR is a cool place to visit. Plus the boogie is on the quiet/surfer side of the island near the observatory
wrightskyguy 1 #5 December 30, 2008 I assume that your wife is a Skydiver. My wife insisted that I hang out with her on our honeymoon. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver
drapsmann 0 #6 December 30, 2008 My wife is a skydiver. It's kind of a honeymoon/re-united trip...and she's going to want to jump. It's kind of like falling off your couch...
skymama 37 #7 December 30, 2008 The Puerto Rico boogie is in February, he's looking for something in May-June. Hawaii sounds great to me, but it's also expensive. If you're looking for a great view that's a little more affordable, Sebastian's is quite lovely. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

But depending on what you want to do in addition to jumping, then you can look at Fla or SoCal as there are a ton of options outside of the DZ's. The choice would depend on travel costs/time. You have options in Hawaii but island hopping can get expensive. I am assuming that you want to do other things in addition to the jumping but if it is just jumping then any "destination" dz would fit the bill.. Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" labrys 0 #9 December 30, 2008 If you're open to anywhere, what about Spain or South Africa or Australia / New Zealand?Owned by Remi #?
Snowflake 0 #10 December 30, 2008 True, but I'd rather know my options even if they are outside the bounds of my parameters.
mynamebedan 0 #11 December 31, 2008 perris, besides when your relatives ask and you tell them you are going to perris it will be better than a dropzone :)
AggieDave 6 #12 December 31, 2008 My wife and I went to the Holiday Boogie in Eloy a few years ago for our honeymoon. We had a great time. I firmly believe that boogies are all about the people, so pick a boogie that looks like it will be a good time with decent attendance. It would be even better to pick one near an area that will give some nice non-skydiving outings (like a nice dinner). There are many boogies in your time frame window, pick one that looks good. Skyfest is usually a really great boogie, although I haven't been to one outside of Texas. That's in the summer months. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
