halorob 0 #1 January 13, 2009 Does anyone know about any DZ's in or around Bahrain. The closet I've found is in Saudi.

looserslounge 0 #4 January 13, 2009 I didnt think Saudi had one, your best bet is UAQ 40 min drive to the north of Dubai, It's where I jump. The people are friendly, but if you want to get a lot of jumps, go there during the week and let me know Ill jump all day with you, and I could arrange for a couple of other jumpers too. Sometimes I have to split up the cost of a jump ticket or two if there arent enough people for the load. Weekends are usually busy with tandems. Im new to the sport but I got on 6 loads on Sunday. Exit for fun jumpers is usually 9,000 which is 100Dhs= 26usd. Its not that bad there and they are making some changes soon??? They really need some different aircraft. Currently a C182 and a Airvan 6 place. Good luck!
nomal2day 0 #5 January 13, 2009 Saudi won't work. You need to have a visa to enter the country, and it is very difficult to get. You will need an invitation from a local company to sponsor you to have a reason for the visa in the first place. Plus I believe the only dz is presently inactive... But on that specific point I could be incorrect. 'To fly is heaven, to freefall is divine' 'You only need 2 tools. WD40 for when it doesn't move but should, and duct tape for when it moves but shouldn't'
jimp 1 #6 January 13, 2009 Military only in Bahrain, if you are military you might have a chance. Super nice guys, do mostly (classic) accuracy. Qatar also as a military team (4way). Otherwise, it's UAQ. Very friendly dz as has been mentioned already.
