flyingu 0 #1 January 20, 2009 I was wondering, I have heard there is a large drop zone in Simcoe Ontario Canada. Then sometimes I hear that that DZ is no longer in operation. Can anyone tell me if there is or isn't a drop zone there still in operation?? Thanks in advance!~*~*~*~FlyingU~*~*~*~ Skydiving lets you fly with angels while your alive
GaryBrown 0 #2 January 20, 2009 Noooooo.... it was never large! Emphasis on WAS. The Borghese Parachute Center, then Velocity Venture in Simcoe, closed down permanently a few years back. After 30 or so years, the land was reclaimed by Developers. It was a family operated, single-Cessna dropzone. Nice people, and a good turnout of IAD students, myself being one of them. flyingu 0 #3 January 20, 2009 Darn...my husband's family was from there & I thought it would be cool to jump there now that we are both skydivers. Sorry it has closed down :(~*~*~*~FlyingU~*~*~*~ Skydiving lets you fly with angels while your alive
Remster 30 #4 January 20, 2009 There is one close to Lake Simcoe... Different part of the province (N of Toronto, instead of SW of Toronto). Its now called Parachute School of Toronto, but when I used to jump there it was simply called Baldwin. I think. Its been a while! lolRemster
