el6uapo 0 #1 March 20, 2009 Hey, I'm off to Florida for the next two weeks. I've been trying to decide where to jump. I'm a newb so if there are better DZs for newbs vs. more experience let me know. Also, I am interested in DZs with better night life where I can at a minimum pitch a tent. To give you an idea of what I am used to I jump at SkyDive Orange in VA. If you are not familiar they fly a Twotter and like to party. Any suggestions are appreciated!

blueskiesbill 0 #3 March 20, 2009 hey, so I once made this same post... my favorite is Z-hills because they have a great atmosphere, great jumpers/coaches, and i jump at the ranch in NY and the planes that billy richards owns (super otters) go down to the hills for the winter, i think there should be three of them down there right now if they are all running...the night life is great between the fire pit and the bar that paul runs... I have also heard alot of great things about sebastian including there great vibe, the late night hang out and the view from altitude... I have heard Deland is rough because they have alot of teams there and it is not really geared towards a under 500 jump newby Also if I were you I would check the calendar on DZ.com and on the dropzones web pages as well to see if anyone has anything fun and exciting going on if you have any other questions ask away blueskies!!! ***also i just moved to baltimore and will be checking orange out this summer...can you tell me anything about orange the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear

While Deland does have a lot of team training going on, they definitely welcome low-timers. Heck, I barely have over 500 jumps and have probably done 400 of them there. To the OP, if you have a car, check out as many of the FL dz's that you can. They all have a different vibe and it's worth checking them out just so you can experience that. GussoneR 0 #7 March 20, 2009 Yes, Sebastian is a great DZ with cool staff, very nice views and with a good night life. In Z-hill, the easter boogie starts the 4 of April with nights jumps. http://skydivecity.com/html/calendar/ If you can go both, do it!
