LODI Jumpers

I'm taking a vacation to lodi. Where is the best place to fly in/out? Sacramento?? How far is the DZ from the airport?

Bunkhouse?

Don't really jump at Lodi, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. Oh, and I used to live nearby, which is probably a bit more useful than staying at the Holiday Inn.

Yes, SMF is the closest big airport to Lodi, Oakland is next and its about twice as far. About 40 miles from airport to DZ. No idea on the bunkhouse.

Yes, SMF is closest to fly into and 40 mins south on I-5 with a cross over to Hwy 99 at Peltier.
The bunkhouse or packing hanger is open to sleep in as well. Showers/washer/dryer

Be careful!

The place is soon going to be invaded by crazy norwegians, some of them with wingsuits, this easter.

They call themselves "Crazy viking camp" and will be easily recognizible by their strong norwegian accents and distinctive "Crazy Viking" T-shirts.

:D

No seriously, they're just a bunch of fun jumpers going over, on a 2 weeks trip, go and ask them if you can jump with them if you want!

;)

Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.

I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?

I'll be headin to Lodi in a week for a little while. I just can't wait anymore till my DZ opens in May. I hope to do a shit ton of jumps and plan on sleeping in the dirt. Is there at least a communal kitchen there I can whip up some mac and cheese and 99cent noodles?

You are going to have a blast. I was there about three weeks ago. The plane is fast, price is low and the people there are friendly. I would go back again in a hart beat.
