freeflyin84 0 #1 March 30, 2009 i'm going to be in the netherlands for most of may. i was hoping someone may have some recommendations on where to go. i'll be in the northwest corner kind of, but it's a small country so it doesn't matter. also, are there any restrictions for non european jumpers, ie: require a certain licence/gear, etc.. thanks.... Baksteen 84 #3 March 31, 2009 Visit as many of us as you can, why don't you? Here is an overview of all the Dutch DZ's, though sadly PCF Lelystad was forced to close down as a result of (in a nutshell) political pressure from Schiphol airport. Have a great holiday! A FAI licence will make things easier. A dutch license is not needed.
Baksteen 84 #6 April 2, 2009 No. Your USPA membership plus all its supporting documents (logbook, licence etc.) are sufficient. A FAI licence is only necessary if you wish to participate in international competitions (or so I believe to have read)"That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom

And if it is easier for him, it will be easier for you too.
dragon2 2 #8 April 3, 2009 We have a lot of canopy rules and you need a AAD until your C license, however these rules are mainly for Dutch jumpers, and most of those rules are for up to 400 jumps. Visiting jumpers are usually allowed to jump their own gear assuming it's not completely out of line. Your rig with your 500 jumps should cause you no problems. If you freefly, wingsuit and/or fly camera, do use an audible. ciel bleu, Saskia
