lurke 0 #1 May 8, 2009 I am looking for info regarding training near Boston. We plan on doing team training in July and are looking for an efficient DZ to train at. That means open 7 days a week and does minimum 12 loads a day. Any input?
blueskiesbill 0 #2 May 8, 2009 I have heard good things about pepperell...but have never been I have been to skydive new england in lebanon maine and that place is hands down amazing... swoop ponds....otter....lots of loads....great people...great after jumping activities and a constant flow of people heading to the wind tunnel so you get cheaper rates because of the size of the time slots bought i do not jump in that area unless i am going to the tiki bar boogie or just a fun weekend in lebanon but what i can say is i do not have a bad thing to say about skydive new england ... oh yea and some of the best DZ food too!!! the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear
skyjumpsteve 0 #3 May 9, 2009 You are not going to get 12 jumps a day during the week anywhere in New England. Pepperell is open 7 days a week but you wont do anywhere near 12 jumps a day Mon thru Fri. You can hit up the tunnel in Nashua which is 5 or 10 mins from Pepperell and get some tunnel time during the week. Pepperell is very easy to get to from Boston (45 mins) and is a nice DZ. vpjr 18 #4 May 10, 2009 I am at Pepperell and we a have good climbing Cessna 206s that go to 13K. If your team is 4 or more you wont have to wait. If your team is big enough I would be more than happy to fly my Otter. Planes and Pilots ready and waiting.
1888 0 #5 May 14, 2009 Try Skydive New England in Lebanon Maine. It's about 75 miles from Boston & it's great. They have a Super Otter & on weekends will turn 25 loads a day. They are also open all week. As to 12 loads a day, it would depend on how many students are there. They have a bunkhouse & lots of good vibes. Try contacting Mike (one of the owners) at 207-289-0378. He's a good guy & will work with you if he can.
UKKid35 1 #6 June 30, 2009 The only traffic at Pepperell is skydiving which is great. The big drawback is there's no bunkhouse and the local accommodation is the usual motel chains with $60 night rooms.
Adrnlnrush07 0 #7 June 30, 2009 Been to pepperell a few times and I love it up there... beautiful DZ and great people. They are a great operation and will work with you! Never been to Skydive New England but have heard good things about them too. Still Pepperell is a lot closer to Boston.*~Alli~* When people ask "Why jump out of perfectly good airplane?" I reply "The door was open and someone said GO!"
