nmatera 0 #1 June 3, 2009 Hey I just started jumping and i'm on my cat D jump in the AFF in east tennessee. I'm heading to Key West at the end of the month and was wondering if anyone knew anything about skydive keywest and the price for upjumpers? I couldn't find anything online. Im hoping I have my license by the time I go. Thanks.
jceman 1 #2 June 3, 2009 Skydive Key West is on Sugarloaf Key at MM 21 (I believe), but don't bother taking your gear or worry about your license. While they don't actually ban them, they actively discourage up jumpers, and with good reasons. The landing area is a postage stamp, bounded by trees on two sides, powerlines/road on the third and water on the fourth. There are NO outs. You would need a D license and far more jumps than you'll have in the near future to even think about it. Do stop in and say "Hey!" and watch a tandem or two; good people. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
blueskiesbill 0 #3 June 3, 2009 ur best bet for that area would be skydive miami which is on the way to the keys... check what plane they have ... last i knew they lease Skydive Long Islands Caravan and that could be back in NY leaving them with a C-182 the condemned convict climbs the highest peaks without fear
