Choosing the Right Dropzone?

Recommended Posts

Good evening to all,

I did a number of forum searches for the answers to my questions but was unable to find an answer I felt was specific enough. If this precise issue has been discussed in the past, I apologize in advance for the unnecessary double post.

At any rate, I now have a couple of tandem jumps under my belt and am ready to begin my AFF training. I've been patiently saving up extra money for the past year and a half to make this happen and I would like to be sure that I pick the right school.

I live in North County San Diego and am reasonably close to several highly rated (as rated by many dropzone.com members) dropzones: Perris Valley, Lake Elsinore, and Skydive San Diego, and therein lies the problem. How am I to choose between them?

I suppose the question might seem silly to some but I've spent considerable time and effort saving up the money for my training and am quite hesitant to select a dropzone given my lack of experience. I have completed tandems at 2 of the 3 places mentioned, but I do not feel as if that gave me a good idea as to which would be the best school for AFF.

Can any students or other jumpers help to point me in the right direction? Thanks.

- Jason

Each has it's own + & - , you might also take a look at the Jim Wallace School @ Perris Valley. You might find it a more personal one on one training or not your style? A visit to all 4 schools would be in order, each is still close enough to use the tunnel @ perris and using the tunnel in conjunction with your AFF would be a wise move on your part.
