lummy 4 #26 September 20, 2002 Hmmm... maybe so, but I put in my 2 cypres's #. One that is 8 years old and needs to go for it's check ($306 without the check, $486 with) ($900 BASE, $100 batteries (i just paid that) and $180 for checks (I paid that also) 4 year old, just came back from it's 4 year and batteries installed in April ($676) The bottom line is, someone has to pay for the maintenance and batteries, it's not free. You can argue that a new one is $750, $850, whatever, but it is still going to cost you BASE Cypres price + batteries (5 sets) and maintenance (twice). I get your point you are trying to make, and TBH, I'd probably just buy new if I hada choice between a 4 yr old one for $700 or a new for $900. All I'm trying to say is that the prices aren't that far off for what they're worth.I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. kallend 2,027 #27 September 20, 2002 QuoteBeing away from Free fly big ways does not guarantee that you will be safe. There have been 2-way collisions that ended in a fatality. "Always analyze your personal skill, the skill/currency of your partner, and plan a dive accordingly" might be a better statement. No matter if you are doing VRW, RW, or CRW. Chris You speak (write) the truth, Chris, BUT there are some activities that are clearly higher risk than 2-ways. I would put serious 10-way speed in that category. mujie96 0 #29 September 20, 2002 I bought a used one, I never really considered jumping without one probably because it wasn't an option that was presented to me by any of my JMs. If I were around more people that didn't use them I probably would have given it more thought before spending $500. Dave of cousindave.com sold me mine, its 6 years old and will need an 8 year in about a year and a half or so but hopefully I will have paid for my rig by then.
