Boris73 0 #1 May 1, 2010 I am thinking about going over too lodi for 2 weeks from England, could someone tell me whereis the nearest Airport from lodi? Also what is the best time in the year to go? Another thing I don't have a drivers licence only a motorbike Licence, so is it possible to live on the dropzone for 2 weeks? Cheers Richard
skycamefalling 0 #2 May 1, 2010 Well there are 2 airports close by. There is one in Sacramento and one in Stockton. Based off where you live, you would have to fly in to Sac. The best time of year would prob be anytime from now till it hits winter again. Lodi is a great DZ and I am pretty sure you can stay there for those 2 weeks. You would prob have to contact them to set that up.....not really sure. Hope this helps.Speedracer~I predict that Michael Jackson will rise from the dead. skymama 37 #4 May 3, 2010 I detached the posts regarding returning camping products to a store. Let's keep this thread on track now.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
rhys 0 #5 May 3, 2010 You can at least acknowledge that I was giving information pertaining to the subject at hand, post 9 of the new thread you created should have remained and now makes no sense in its current location. I will repost the relevant information (omit the free camping equipment suggestion) that will no doubt be usefull for anyone that has no experience or information on what it is like staying there! That information will otherwise be lost into the bonfire abyss in no time!"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix

Cheers Richard fly into san fancisco, there are various ways to get to the town of lodi by bus etc, but once you are in lodi you can be picked up if you call the dropzone. Camping is free, and the money you would normally spend on accomodation will pay for all of your jumps, you could do about 70-80 jumps in 2 weeks if you stay there and get on all the loads you can. Whatever you do, you will be able to do more jumps in Lodi than anywhere else, in a short time and at such a reasonable price. For 'dutchies' like me [Wink], there is free candy, free peanuts in the shell, $0.50 sodas, $0.50 water, free rubberbands, and $0.50 snacks... It is utopia when the planes are running and not much at all when they stop. Have a plan to do stuff when the DZ closes for the day (about 3pm except saturdays), unless you are content sitting there all night drinking beer. There is free wireless in the bunkhouse so you can do internet stuff too if you bring your laptop. But not much else at all without some sort of transport. I recommend the Italian resturaunt in Galt next to the Mongolian place (which is not bad itself)!Wink Quote Another thing I don't have a drivers licence only a motorbike Licence, so is it possible to live on the dropzone for 2 weeks? I did for a month, with no car. there is a couple os small returaunt in a short walking distance, so you can eat drink and sleep. I highly recommend the camping scenario as the bunk house is quite 'crubbed' to say the least! There may or may not be a room for you to use as it changes daily and bill will not usually reserve one for you. there is basic cooking stuff there but you will probaly have to clean it all first!!! just use the money you save on jump tickets and accomodation on eating out, there will be people there going to Lodi and galt for dinner most nights so if you are any sort of good person you will have no trouble at all living comofrtably. You might just go insane at night if you get bored easily though."When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will see peace." - 'Jimi' Hendrix
